03 Mar NYFW – Chromat

It seems everyone attended the Chromat A/W 2015 show. From Karley Sciortino (Slutever), through Suzanne Bartsch (Queen of New York nightlife), from Leandra Medine (Man Repeller) to Jillian Mercado (We The Urban), everyone was there. And everyone was pumped. None of your run of the mill “too cool for school” fashion show attitudes here, this was full blown party atmosphere, and from the moment the first model hit the runway, the party was in full swing. Shouts of “Yeah mama, work it!” emanated from the mouths of the predominately female audience (that’s always a good sign), as one exquisitely fierce and often curvaceous model after another stomped down the runway, as Chromat mastermind Becca McCharen put it, “super-human women of the future ready to take over the world.” I can’t add anything to that.

The collection itself was super exciting: McCharen’s architectural background was on full display, as one incredible look after another was presented on a plethora of different body types. Mainstream America, you can keep your 50 Shades Of Whatever, Chromat is where eroticism and fetish met with high fashion for the most energetic runway show we saw all season.
