26 Feb NYFW – Julianna Bass FW2015

For Fall/Winter 2015, Julianna Bass was inspired by the city of Berlin. And like Berlin, the clothing here is both rough and beautiful at the same time. Bass uses traditional silhouettes with modern details and plenty of deep rich colors like maroon, slate, copper, and red. Of course, black and white were there too.

Bass had a few T-shirts with graffiti print or cropped tees paired with tapered silk pants that ended just above the ankle which were kind of cool. The oversized jackets had exaggerated details like a wide collar or super large buttons or voluminous 3/4 sleeves. The silk dresses with exaggerated hips were romantic yet edgy. The closing look -a full length red gown-  had a really interesting bodice that made me think of flower petals.

My favorite look?  The very first look that came out: a loosely fitting white tee tucked into a floor length black silk skirt. It was elegant yet playful.
